Ebenezer Majombozi High School
Success is nothing more than a few simple disciplines practiced every day.
Ebenezer Majombozi High School is a great historical school that is named after one of its former outstanding and prolific principals, Mr Ebenezer Majombozi. The school has gone through a lot of transformation processes dating back to when apartheid was very brutal and as such has produced many outstanding:
- political leaders,
- business people,
- academics, administrators
- and ordinary citizens
At the moment of putting together this document, the school is engaged in a long process of bringing together all former students and teachers in an attempt to rebuild it. In the light of that and until after the establishment of a Former Student Association, the exact year of its establishment is not yet confirmed but some archives show that the school was already in existence by the early forties.
The birth of Ebenezer Majombozi High School
The school has undergone three processes of revival or transformation viz there was Ebenezer College which was accommodated at same stage at the old Welsh high school and thereafter the existence of the school where it is now. This building was first used in 1992 during the principalship of Mr Wolf. The process of finalizing and documenting this history will only be confirmed after a broader consultation with
- the former students,
- the community,
- local politicians and
- educationists.
The School's teacher and governing body
Some of the recent principals who have headed this school are Mr Ntlabathi, Mr Ngambu, Mr Tomeli L.M, Mr Ntshiqa E.M and currently Mr Pakade V.L. The school has two deputy principals and they are Mr Ravgee. P. and Mrs Sogoni P. The school has forty-one (41) teacher posts. There are two (2) Administration Clerks and more that are vacant and three (3) watchmen vacancies, two (2) caretaker vacancies and three (3) cleaner’s vacancies.
This year, 2021 our learner enrolment starts at 1662 starting from grade 8 to grade 12. The school is in great demand because of the education it offers. The School Governing Body has 9 parent members, 3 teacher members, 1 non teacher member and 3 learner members.
The future plans for our School
We wish our school could grow and meet its demands and mandate of addressing Inequality and Poverty.
- The school needs major renovations in the classrooms, learners’ toilets, rebuilding of the sports facilities, staffroom and admin offices.
- Fencing is very weak and vandalism is the order of night and day.
- Safety and security to human life and school property is seriously compromised. As the internal stakeholders of the school we feel compromised as we are subjected to a traumatic yard and poorly resourced institution.
Vision and Mission of our School
